I'm a beginner when it comes to websites and hosting, but I have a startup idea that I want to get online this year, and want to find the best Web host possible.

I need to make sure I don't have any downtime or other issues like this - basically, I want to get the website published and online and not have to worry about anything else.

I can't afford to pay too much as my business is still small, but a friend of mine told me about her complete horror story with a really bad company - so I am happy to pay enough to avoid falling into the same trap.

What are the easiest, fastest, and best services for newbies like me?

The best Web hosting...

From the perspective of a small company with limited Web experience, a great Web host should have/offer the following:

  • Sufficient server resources
  • Reliability
  • Great support
  • Easy-to-use and setup
  • Affordable

Great support is absolutely critical for beginners (and experienced webmasters alike), and because it requires skilled Web technicians, and human labor, it is unfortunately one of the greatest sources of cost for Web companies.

"Here's how to see if virtual private servers are right for you.

However, economies of scale kick in for some of the larger companies so that you are still able to get pretty good support at low cost. By demanding the above qualities from any company you consider, as a baseline, you can then narrow down the field by looking for services that:

  • have experience with your CMS (Content Management System) or Web platform
  • have consistently good reviews from customers and clients
  • offer plans and packages that are suitable for your website's needs (i.e. blogging, marketing, eCommerce)

My advice, in general, is opt to pay a bit extra for services that put an emphasis on support, technical experience, and reliability.

Many high quality companies are confident enough in the quality of their services that they offer risk-free trials. Here's a list of the top Web hosting companies with money-back guarantees.

If you focus on going with the lowest cost... well, that's when you end up wasting time and money trying to sort out problems that wouldn't even exist with higher quality companies.

In addition, I also recommend you read:

There are actually quite a lot of high quality plans and packages available. However, HostGator VPS is probably a good place to start.

I'll provide some great, personalized options, and explain why I think they are right for your particular needs.
